Bobbi Brown Surf & Sand Summer Collection
Bobbi Brown collections are always favourites of mine, she just gets what women want from their makeup. This Summer’s Surf & Sand collection is right up my street… neutral, neutral, neutral.
Let’s start with the palette. There are two in the collection, the Surf Eye Palette which is nude with a touch of ocean blue throughout. Then there’s the Sand Eye Palette which is the one I have. Both come in the most amazing and unique textured packaging and include 8 different eyeshadows, 3 of which are new shades (7 are new in the Surf palette). There’s a mix of mattes, sparkles and shimmers but all shades reflect the sandy theme; easy neutrals to wear on the beach or by the pool. I love the quality of Bobbi Brown shadows so no complaints there and the giant mirror inside the palette would come in very handy on holiday too! My only complaint would be that there are a lot of ‘base’ shades and not that many shades to blend into the crease and make new combinations. A deeper brown/orange would have been really nice!
Also in the collection are two limited edition Brightening Blushers. One is mainly bronze with a small highlight section, the other is more of a pink, highlighting blush. Both are very shimmery but would look very pretty on a summer’s evening. The Sheer Lip colours are also limited edition and are really nice and easy to apply. They leave the perfect amount of colour on the lips and there are four shades available in this collection, all of which are nude/pinks.
The Bobbi Brown Shadow Sticks are gorgeous cream eyeshadows that are grey for when you’re by the pool or on the beach and a new pretty golden shade is included in this collection. There are also two new Long-Wear Eye Pencils, one of which is a beautiful Bronze and reminds me of the MAC paint pot in ‘Eclair’. The other shade is ‘Black Chocolate’, a deep dark brown.
So whether you’re already a Bobbi Brown lover or yet to be converted, I’d say this is definitely a collection worth checking out. It’s already in stores so head to your nearest counter and have a play! Just a warning though, you will want that palette so if you’re on a spending ban stay far, far away.
