MAXFACTOR COLOUR PRECISION EYESHADOW COMPARED
I’ve raved about the Rimmel Scandal Eyes Shadow Paint far too much, but it really is one of the best eye products I discovered in 2013. It’s a liquid eyeshadow that works really well as either a base under shadow or on it’s own and it lasts longer than any other shadow I’ve tried. So when I came across the Maxfactor equivalent in Superdrug I wanted to put it to the test and see how Coffee compares to Rimmel Rich Russet.
First of all let’s compare shades, whilst Rich Russet is a very metallic and reflective bronze, Coffee is a more of a muted down, grey toned brown. Because of less metallic finish, the shade naturally looks darker on the lid and quite heavy compared to Rich Russet.
Both products have very similar doe-foot applicators and apply smoothly, with maybe a bit more product coming out of the Maxfactor version when applying it. The only real difference is the price, the Rimmel is £4.99 and the Maxfactor one is £6.99.
I really thought that this would be an easy comparison but actually they are both so similar it’s hard to compare. The Rimmel one still wins for me, especially as the price is lower but if you find it a bit too metallic, the Maxfactor version will work just as well, won’t crease and will create an even smokier eye look.
