GIORGIO ARMANI ROUGE ECSTASY LIPSTICKS
Oh Armani… you get me every time. If it’s not the magnetic packaging it’s the incredible quality that has me twiddling my fingers with excitement.
This time round it’s the Rouge Ecstasy lipsticks that have grabbed my attention. Labelled as the first “CC Care & Colour lipstick” they are supposed to give “rapturous moisture and vibrant colour”. There are an incredible amount of shades available split into categories of beiges and browns, reds and purples, corals and pinks. In total there are 36 shades to choose from… *WARNING* you might be at the counter a while.
It’s rare to find a lipstick that has the skincare properties of a lip balm, whilst sustaining a vibrant, pigmented colour. Many brands promise this, but it’s hardly ever achieved well. In terms of hydration, they really work and feel great on the lips. The “shield effect” helps to keep moisture locked into the lips, so with these you can wave goodbye to flakey, dry lipstick. To bump up the formula and make it even better, they added a “melting cream complex” which not only retains moisture but also attracts external moisture to the lips.
From left to right I am wearing shades: 100 Androgino, 300 Pop, 500 Eccentrico, 301 Gio and 600 Mania. Bright blue-toned pinks don’t suit me, but I really liked all the other shades. I left the darkest shade on all day and although it didn’t last as long as matte lipsticks do, it did a pretty good job of staying put! The formula clings to the lips well and doesn’t move around your face like a lot of moisturising lipsticks do.
They’re £25, which isn’t cheap but it’s definitely not one of the most expensive on the market. If you’re after an easy wearable lipstick with great colour pay-off, I think these are definitely worth the small investment. I’m looking forward to looking at the other shades on offer and I have a feeling 300 will be my Summer staple next year!
