RiRi X MAC: HER COCOA PALETTE
I’m not one to stalk the MAC website for new collections, in fact I wasn’t even aware of this one until I saw a few Instagram photos circulating. Rihanna and MAC? It makes sense and it’s a good fit. The only thing that really caught my eye from the collection was the ‘Her Cocoa’ palette so I popped into the Covent Garden store whilst I was in the area to swatch them myself. Covent Garden had loads of stock last week, but nearly the whole the collection has sold out online so I think store stalking is your best best.
The palette includes four new shades; a satin pale soft peach, a shimmery yellow gold, a warm antique gold and a chocolate bronze. I used the yellow gold all over the lid and then blended both darker shades into the crease and under the eye. The lightest shade works well as a base and also as a highlight under the brow or in the inner corner of the eye.
It’s one of those palettes that you can take away and know you can get a whole eye look with just the one palette. It seems that the packaging is like Marmite, people are either loving it or hating it. It’s maybe a little too pink for me but I love limited edition packaging so it still feels quite special to me.
So if you’re interested in the collection, try going to the bigger flagship stores OR the tiny ones that noone knows about. Tere are still a few bits left on the Selfridges, Debenhams and House of Fraser website, but not this palette I’m afraid. Did you pick up anything from this collection?
