WHAT’S ON MY FACE #30
On 12th November 2012 I was freaking out at the fact that I had nothing to blog about the next day and I’d run out of ideas. Then I suddenly thought it would be a nice idea to just show you what makeup I was wearing that day and simply call it ‘What’s On My Face’… the next day my first WOMF post went up. I love doing these weekly posts and it’s a good way of encouraging myself to try different things and not fall into a routine. For my 30th WOMF I thought it would be a nice idea to look back at my first ever WOMF post and recreate the same look with (almost all) the same products.
I started by priming my skin using my favourite Laura Mercier primer but this time instead of using the Silk Creme foundation which is a bit heavy for this time of year, I used the oil-free tinted moisturiser. After applying my Bobbi Brown Corrector I used NARS Creamy Radiant concealer which replaced my Origins plantscription that was used in the old WOMF, but they are really similar! To bronze up my face I used the same bronzer, which was the Guerlain Terracotta Light 03 Brunettes. Why have I not used this in so long?! I love the mosaic pattern, it really helps to get a subtle bronze and it’s hard to over apply. For my cheeks I went peach, which is something I haven’t done for a while. The Origins ‘Sunset Peach’ blush is pretty, subtle and easy to wear.
To recreate the eyes I used the same palette, the NARS ‘Pleasures of Paris’ palette but used it in a completely different way. Doing this made me realise how much I’ve learnt about makeup application in the last 9 months. I started by applying ‘Nepal’ over the entire lid and then blended ‘violetta’ right into the crease as it’s matte and will add definition. I then used ‘Fez’ to blend into the outer corner and used ‘Cordura’ on a small angled brush as a liner. I took the bronzey shade ‘Fez’ right under the eye and used a bit of ‘Abyssinia’ in the inner corner to highlight. I wasn’t ever that fond of this palette but I’m so glad I revisited this look because it’s actually an amazing palette and I love the look I created with it.
For mascara, I used a trusty old favourite, the huge Origins GinZing mascara and then left the lips bare using just the Nuxe Reve de Miel lip balm.
So there it is, an oldie revisited and reinvented. I hope you continue to like my WOMF posts and if you ever have any requests for makeup looks you can comment on here or tweet me @lilypebbles
