YELLOW FLORAL NAILS
Inspired by a new Zara dress I recently picked up in the sale, I wanted to do a yellow based floral pattern on my nails. I haven’t got the patience for using brushes and proper tools, so I thought I’d give it a go using my ‘splodging’ technique. This is how it went down…
Step 1. Paint the nails with a bright yellow, I used Barry M’s limited edition yellow which is a little streaky so I had to use three coats.
Step 2. Take a bright green polish and roughly stroke about three lines on the nails to resemble long leaves. I used Bourjois ‘Green Fizz’ because it stands out really well on top of the yellow.
Step 3. The next step is the pink flowers. I used quite a bright pink/purple because most the other pinks looked quite dark on top of the yellow. Using little, quite neat splodges, do two or three on each nail. Try to keep the edges rounded and not too sharp.
Step 4. Take a bright blue and do a little splodge inside each pink flower. Don’t worry about getting it right in the centre, it looks better a bit off to the side.
Step 5. Using a dotting tool or a hair grip, dot a small white dot inside the blue.
And that’s it! Well, I say that like it didn’t take long… it did. But I really like the finished look and so did the three strangers that complimented me on them!

If you want to test out your patience, give these a try and if you do please tweet me a photo @lilypebbles I’d love to see them!
