What’s On My Face #23

For a day in town I wanted to keep my makeup simple and classy. As you know, I like to keep to the same style but today I also wanted to try out some different products.

I haven’t used the Clarins Instant Smooth primer for a while so used that all over for a flawless base and then applied the YSL le Teint Touche Eclat foundation which is still one of my favourites for fresh, radiant skin. I continued with my current concealer routine, Bobbi Brown corrector and NARS Creamy Radiant Concealer which gives both radiance and coverage.

For a bit of subtle colour I used the Bourjois Bronzing Powder which is a little lighter than NARS Laguna and then applied Illamasqua’s ‘Naked’ blusher on top for a natural flush of colour. I recently purchased The Balm’s ‘Mary-Lou Manizer’ highlighter which on first thoughts comes out a lot lighter on a brush than it does when swatched, but I still have some testing to do!

For my eyes I used my favourite ‘do it all’ eyeshadow brush from Zoeva, using the side of the brush to apply ‘suspect’ all over the lid and then using the tip to apply ‘tease’ in the crease. The NAKED 2 palette has some beautiful shades and I find it great for creating a cool toned bronzy eye. I used my usual eye liner for some definition along the top lashline and then Maybelline ‘The Rocket’ mascara which is a new one for me. For someone who doesn’t usually like plastic brushes I am really impressed with this one and have been using it a lot recently.

As my nails at the time were painted in Essie’s ‘Meet Me at Sunset’, I wanted to wear a similar orangey/red on my lips. Clinique’s Heftiest Hibiscus is a beautiful orange that’s not too ‘out there’ and looks really nice and warm on the lips.
