SUMMER SOS
I have a love/hate relationship with the sun. I love when it comes out, I really do, but man do I hate having to prep my pale hairy skin. It’s a chore that has to be done though and it’s no fun buying pretty dresses if you don’t feel confident enough to wear them.
The first thing I always do is exfoliate to get rid of any dry and dead skin. As I mentioned here, I have been loving using the Soap & Glory Breakfast Scrub and for extra exfoliation I use a shower pouf with it. The last thing you want on show when you have your legs and arms out is any dry skin, so I like to moisturise my entire body using the Origins Ginger Souffle which smells so fresh and gorgeous.
Then onto the tanning and as I’ve mentioned before I’m no tanning expert, but these are the products that I find are the easiest to work with. The Clarins Liquid Bronze is the perfect face tanner and I recommend it to everyone! All it takes is a swipe over your face before bed (I use a cotton pad but you can also use your hands) and when you wake in the morning the tan has developed into the most subtle, golden shade. I’ve never had an accident with this tan, in fact I don’t think you can… it’s fool proof! The Clinique Self Sun Body Tinted lotion is as it says, a tinted lotion. But what I like about it is that as well as tinting the skin instantly, it also develops into a proper tan throughout the day. I apply this using a mitt that I picked up in Boots and I didn’t get any streaks and as it’s 100% fragrance free there’s no biscuit smell. I mainly use this on my legs and it’s been working really well as a quick fix on sunny days.
I’m really happy with my Summer SOS kit and despite loathing the routine, I’m looking forward to getting out my summer dresses and enjoying some sunshine, FINALLY!
