What’s On My Face #17
For today’s face I started by using the Dr Lewinn’s skin perfect primer that I mentioned in this month’s favourites video before applying the Shiseido Perfect Refining foundation. This was my first time using a Shiseido foundation but Fleur always raves about them so I had high hopes. The Perfect Refining foundation really reminds me of Chanel Vitalumiere as it’s quite watery but surprisingly gives a nice medium coverage and smooths out the skin. I find with these quite runny foundations that using your fingers to apply it works best, just focusing on the areas you need coverage. I need to try it a few more times before I decide how much I like it but for now it gets a thumbs up from me!
I loved using my new Kevyn Aucoin sculpting powder and now I know why it has such a cult status in the beauty industry. It’s perfect for the days where I don’t want to bronze up with NARS Laguna but still want definition. I use this powder to contour my cheeks and as it’s a sort of grey/brown toned powder it creates a really natural shadow. I have been using it with the Zoeva Luxe Face Definer brush which is the most perfect shape as it’s large and fluffy but perfectly tapered. For the cheeks and cheekbones I used the Smashbox Fusion Soft Lights that I just keep going back to as it’s the perfect quick blusher/highlight fix.
For the eyes I started by priming the lids using the Zoeva matte eyeshadow fix which I actually prefer to the Urban Decay Primer Potion. I then used MAC Amber Lights (which for some reason is showing up way more orange on camera than it actually is) and then used Charcoal Brown in the crease for a bit more definition. I can’t be without a bit of brown eyeliner so I used the Zoeva waterproof eyeliner in Desert Traveller which is incredibly soft and easy to use. On my lashes I applied a swipe of Soap & Glory Thick & Fast which gives them a slightly more natural look than my usual mascaras.
The final and star product of this WOMF is Topshop’s ‘Jewel’ which is a PH-reactive lip tint that changes colour depending on your PH levels. Jewel is supposed to be orange but on me it looks like a pretty, everyday pink and as it’s so moisturising I find it really easy to wear. This has definitely earned it’s place in my ‘in handbag beauty bag’.
This was the look I wore in my ‘The Glow Factor’ video and I was really happy with how it came out!
