THE LUSTABLES 0.1
The Lustables {head over to the ‘notes’ section on your iPhone… you see that Lust List of products that’s been slowly growing over the past month? Those are your ‘lustables’}
They make your heart flutter with excitement, you somehow find yourself stalking every single Space NK to see if it’s still sold out and when your boyfriend/mum/friend/dad asks how much it was you take 50% off your answer… but are they worth it?
The Chantecaille Just Skin has been on my list for about a year as it’s a favourite of my Lust List enabler Anna. On a recent trip to Space NK with her and Amelia, I found myself swatching it again but this time someone from the Chantecaille training team was actually in store – coincidence? I think not. There was one left in stock and it was going to me mine! For £57 I was kind of expecting it to make me look like Mila Kunis but obviously that wasn’t going to happen so I blended it into my skin using my hands hopeful that it would be as good as I’d hoped. My initial thoughts were that it’s definitely a lot more sheer than I expected, it’s literally a moisturiser that’s tinted and is probably the most sheer one I’ve tried. It does however leave a very natural finish and it’s the perfect summer base for a good skin day. Whether it’s worth it or not depends on your beauty budget, but the Space NK staff are lovely so go and try it out in store before adding it to your list!
Whenever I tweet about highlighters I always get replies asking if I’ve tried MAC Soft & Gentle and it seems to be one of those MAC products that everyone has! So on a recent trip to the MAC pro store, I casually picked one up whilst in the queue for the till. I didn’t need it but I really wanted to try it! It’s actually much more glittery than I thought it would be, I personally prefer less shimmer in my highlighters. The shade is a perfect peachy champagne so I have enjoyed wearing it, but it’s not my favourite in my collection.
The Bumble & Bumble Surf Spray is a flat haired girl’s dream and as I have quite dry, coarse hair it was never on my Lust List. That was until I cut all my hair off and since then I’ve wanted more volume and texture in my hair… just a little bit! So the Surf Spray was quickly added to the list and if it’s good enough for Rumi Neely, well, it’s good enough for me! I like to spritz a little bit of this (warning – it comes out as quite a wet spray rather than a mist!) on the ends of my hair after straightening it and it gets rid of that silky, freshly straightened look and gives it a bit of texture and wave.
The Kevyn Aucoin Sculpting Powder happened when I arrived in Soho half an hour early for a meeting. I somehow ended up in Space NK browsing and then somehow ended up making a decision between the highlighter and the sculpting powder. The highlighter is next on my list but for now I’m really enjoying using this to contour with. It’s a grey toned powder which sounds scary, but it leaves the perfect shadow without making you look too bronzed like most bronzers can. It’s subtle and easy to use so I’d definitely recommend it.
Are any of these Lustables on your list? Coming up this week… The Lustables 0.2!
