THE AVEDA INSTITUTE BLOW DRY
A few weeks ago (pre the chop) I headed down to the Aveda Insitute in Holborn where I was treated to the most incredible blow dry. I’m very untrusting when it comes to hairdressers, but I didn’t even hesitate to say yes to this one as I’ve heard such great things about it.
The institute is huge! You can enter via the shop or Le Pain Quotidien which is one of my favourite cafes. I took a seat and was offered a drink before having the best hair wash of my life. I’m not exaggerating, not only is the ‘sink area’ beautiful and calm, but the hair wash… there are no words. Once I returned back to my seat I was then given a scalp massage using the Beautifying scalp oil which just added to the whole relaxation process.
I went for a simple blow dry, but it was perfect. They used some great products on me like the Smooth Infusion Glossing Straightening cream that I’ve been addicted to ever since and as my hair can get a bit frizzy after a blow dry they used a bit of the Brilliant Spray on Shine which worked a treat.
So what’s so special about an Aveda blow dry and is it really worth the higher price tag? The overall experience was a real treat, it was relaxing and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasn’t just the experience that blew me away though, my hair stayed smooth, soft and glossy for longer that it ever has before. I got so many compliments on my hair the following week and it felt so healthy.
There are Aveda salons all over, but if you have a special occasion or just want to treat yourself I’d definitely recommend a visit to the institute!
