CONFESSION OF A FIG OBSESSION

I’m sure you know by now about my obsession with anything fig scented. I can thank my mother for this obsession for as long as I can remember she has been bringing fig scented beauty products home and spritzing them or burning them all over the place. There’s something about it that makes me feel comforted, fresh but also quite sophisticated.

The original members of this figgy gang are the Diptyque Philosykos perfume and Figuier candle. I’ve been repurchasing these for a few years now as they truly are the perfect scent. Philosykos can be worn all year round, day and night and Figuier is incredible at filling a room with the most gorgeous smell. Alongside these I also own the Philosykos shower gel and body lotion that came in a little set that Rich bought me last year. I love using these and they’re perfect for intensifying the scent of the perfume and making it last.

I recently picked up the Jo Malone Wild Fig & Cassis perfume after my mum banned me from stealing hers. It’s really quite different to Philosykos and I wish I could explain why but I can’t put my finger on it. You’ll have to go have a sniff for yourself, but I promise it’s beautiful! I got the 30ml size so I can keep it in my handbag. I’ve also been testing out the Roger & Gallet Fleur de Figuier which is a lot lighter and floral than the others, but works nicely as a day spritz.

Finally, my favourite buys from & Other Stories, the Fig Fiction hand soap and body wash. These have a very similar scent to Philosykos but they are really affordable, come in cute simple packaging and feel really nice to use.
