STILA KITTEN
Don’t ask how, but I ended up with Stila ‘Kitten’ in both the smudge pot and the single eyeshadow. It involved an indecisive trip to Selfridges and a very tempting online sale.
Either way, I ended up with both so I thought I’d do a little comparison so that you guys can make an informed decision on which one is right for you. I really should have looked at a post like this before I went near the Stila concession….
I’ll start by telling you that my favourite of the two is the eyeshadow. I swatched the smudge pot on my hand at the counter and liked it but when I got home and applied it, I was a bit disappointed. The colour is gorgeous, it’s like a peachy champagne, but I don’t like the formula. The cream shadow feels quite chunky and much more glittery than I expected. I don’t know what it is, but something about it makes it quite hard to blend and it just didn’t live up to my expectations.
The eyeshadow on the other hand is just what I hoped it would be. The colour is a bit more gold toned than the smudge pot and the shadow formula is perfect. For a powder eyeshadow it’s incredibly buttery and soft, a bit like an Urban Decay eyeshadow. It’s really easy to blend and I think it will come in much more useful to me than the smudge pot will.
You win some, you loose some and I’m happy I didn’t let the smudge pot put me off because Stila ‘Kitten’ eyeshadow is really pretty.
