Cream Blusher Collection
Swatches left to right
Elizabeth Arden Nectar | Becca Beach Tint ‘Grapefruit’ | Dainty Doll 02
Jemma Kidd PawPaw | Topshop Flush* | Becca Beach Tint ‘Watermelon’
One of the reasons I like doing these kind of posts is because it also shows me (as well as you) what I have in my collection. And the conclusion I came to after taking these photos was that I have a rubbish cream blusher collection and I must get my act together before Thailand!
So although I’m not a massive fan of cream blusher (I find the blending process a bit tedious) I was under the impression I had a pretty decent collection. After swatching all of these for the purpose of this post, I can confirm that I only really have 2, maybe 3, cream blushers that I kind of like.
My favourite out of the bunch would probably be Elizabeth Arden’s Ceramide ‘Nectar’ blush, because it’s very creamy, blendable and I like the natural rose pink colour. My second favourite would then be the Jemma Kidd ‘PawPaw’, which is a pretty peachy/coral and I wore this a lot in the Summer.
I love the idea of the Becca Beach Tints, the packaging and the colours available are great, but I just find them very watery and hard to work with. I think these are made for Australian beach babes who have perfect glowing skin and all they need is a touch of colour on their cheeks. Yeah, that’s not me…
Finally onto the two I use the least in my collection, Topshop’s ‘Flush’ and Dainty Doll 002 (I think it’s called Orange County Girl, but doesn’t say it on product). The Topshop blush is not so much a ‘flush’ of colour, but more a flush of neon. I think if the formula was creamier it would be easier to wear, but because it’s quite thick I can never get it to work on my skin. The Dainty Doll blush looks incredible when swatched, like a peach with gold, but for some reason this one just doesn’t show up on my skin. No matter how much I put on, it just doesn’t show, maybe it’s for girls with much paler skin than me?
So, there it is, my pretty disappointing cream blush collection. I made it my mission to find a ‘wow’ cream blusher to take away with me and after doing lots of research I think I may have found the one. Check back tomorrow to find out which one I went for…
What’s your favourite cream blush?
