Pack Up Your Troubles
I’m preparing for my weekend of packing and have started thinking about the dreaded toiletries. They’re always the hardest thing to pack and take up the most room and weight. I don’t know if you’ll all find this interesting or not, but I wanted to show you how I plan on packing them.
My boring toiletries go in my red polka dot (heart), fold out, hanging bag. I got this from Debenhams last year – I particularly liked this one because of the print and different departments inside. It has an extra bag inside that’s attached with velcro which I like to use for weekend trips. I like hanging these on the back of bathroom doors and it’s really useful if where you’re staying hasn’t got much space around the sink.
I’ll be putting most of my makeup (the good stuff) in my new L bag. I absolutely love this! After seeing it on Lisa Eldridge’s video I went straight to the Alphabet Bag website and ordered a wash bag for myself! It’s a really nice large size and feels like a really good quality bag that will last.
This Japonesque makeup brush roll is where I will be keeping all my brushes. This wrap holds 9 brushes but I always manage to squeeze more than one in each slot. It’s a really nice patent black and I’m looking forward to using it for the first time. Japonesque have started selling their products in some Boots, but it’s still quite hard to get your hands on their stuff. They seem to be creating quite a buzz in the UK, so if you’re interested I’d say keep an eye out on their Twitter as I’m sure they’ll be available online soon – they’d be silly not to open an online shop for the UK!
My haircare products will probably get shoved into the cheap wash bag I bought from Boots last year. It was around £2 and has a sweet Cath Kidson type print on it.
I picked up these clear Muji cases for £1.95 each. They’re made for makeup brushes and I thought they were really smart. I bought these before I got the brush roll, so I’m not 100% sure if I’ll take them. I really do like them though, especially for taking makeup brushes to work. I could probably fit around 5 brushes in each case and they have those nice plastic zip things like on sandwich bags.
I’m completely over the top, I know, but it’s the only way I can make the boring task of packing slightly more interesting.
Can anyone relate to me on this? Or do you bung everything in one bag when you travel?
Lily xx
Disclaimer: Everything was bought my me apart from the Japonesque brush roll which I won on a Twitter competition.
